Favorite color? Permalink

Green, even though all colors are brown. Seriously, I tend to be drawn towards earth-tones. That said, I think the majority of colors are pretty great.

Specifically, in terms of paint colors, I have a top five: Teneborus Grey (AK), Dark Camo Green, Warm Brown, Grey Green, and Burnt Red all from Pro Acryl. I usually find a way to use each of these on every project.

I absolutely adore a standard bearer. The more insane the better.

Least favorite thing to paint? Permalink

I really dislike painting over small spikes and studs on armor. Also sister of battle backpacks are a bit of a bother.

Semi-large and large models are difficult. Any model where the point of stability and the surface to paint are too far apart making it hard to paint in a braced position.

TMM or NMM? Permalink

Tough question.

I like the control and artistic endeavour of non-metallic metal but it’s a large time investment. On the other hand, I dislike the application process of true-metallic metals, but it’s much faster and can give an army a great look with a little post-processing.

At the end of the day it’s artist preference and there is no wrong answer.

Favorite other painter? Permalink

I’d say there are a lot of great painters out there, and so many that inspire and push me to try new things.

That said, I think Josh (warhipster) is super hard-working and a phenomenal paragon of putting paint to plastic. His outcomes are consistently envy inducing, and his output is prolific.

Josh is also a super talented and kind teacher that has created a welcoming and supportive community I love being a part of.

For Age of Sigmar I love the Orruks, Helsmiths of Hashut, Flesh-eater Courts, and Stormcast Eternals.

In 40k I love Orks, Emperor’s Children, Astra Militarum, and Dark Angels.

I also have a soft spot in my soul for Gloomspite Gitz, Salamanders, Crimson Fists, Votann and Sisters of Battle.

I like the lore for 40k more overall, but prefer the rules, models, and overall gameplay offered by Age of Sigmar.

As for non-gw properties, while I haven’t dug deep enough, I’m very intrigued by and looking into both Trench Crusade, and Frostgrave.

Hands down, my favorite is Kill Team. I also really enjoy Spearhead.

Favorite book? Permalink

Probably the Ghazghkull Thraka book (Prophet of the Waaagh). I also really love the Plauge Garden book for Stormcast.
